"The
last nineteen years have
been a challenge and a great blessing from our Savior. It was
1986
that we moved into Philadelphia to start a church. There was no way we
could have imagined the tremendous journey our Lord had opened to us.
C.I.B.C. is truly a group of people from many walks of life with one
thing in common "Jesus has saved us by His grace through faith".
Please
visit with us.
Assistant Pastor David Peterman

Youth
Pastor Michael Peterman
"I was saved on
December 2, 1990. I had attended church most of my childhood, but never
accepted Christ. That night as an eleven year old boy I turned from my
sin and accepted Christ as my Savior. I was baptized the following
Wednesday in obedience to the Lord's command. The Lord began dealing with me in
1994 about full-time service. I
surrendered to preach that February. Since then the Lord has been
guiding and directing my life as I attempt to serve Him. In 1998 the
Lord allowed me to begin serving Him in the full time ministry of
our
Rescue Mission. I served on the mission staff for three years. Since
January of 2001 I have been the Youth Pastor of Christ Independent
Baptist Church. The Lord has given me a vision for the teens of this
great city. The future of independent fundamental Baptist
churches
lies within our youth! I praise the Lord for an opportunity to serve
Him with my life. "

"I was
born and raised in the
inner-city of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. At age nineteen I heard the
gospel for the first time, but didn't understand or desire to be saved
at the time. After being brought to a point of hopelessness by my sins,
at age twenty-eight, I accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as
my Savior."
